Las Vegas. Sin City. The City of lights. Las Vegas goes by many names, with all of them reflecting the many different sides of this incredible city. Situated in the state of Nevada, Las Vegas brings a huge variety of people to it every year. Whether it’s partygoers, retired couples or even adventure seekers. Las Vegas has it all. I decided I would do a ‘best things to do in Las Vegas’ article as i’ve had a few people ask me exactly that, what are the best things to do in Las Vegas? I visited Las Vegas back in 2015 during a summer trip to the U.S where I visited New York City, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Celebrating my 18th birthday, it was the trip of a life time. Landing into Las Vegas was crazy, seeing the Las Vegas strip at night was a beautiful sight. From the lights of the Bellagio, to the lights of the cars in the busy city traffic. There was a variety of eclectic colours brightening up the dark Nevada night.
I stayed at the Aria Resort and Hotel , which is one of the newest hotels on the Vegas Strip. Pulling up to the hotel i’ve never seen a hotel so pristine and modern in my life. Walking into the foyer of the hotel I was gobsmacked by the size of the place. The casino covers 150,000 square feet of the hotel. It is huge! The hotel also houses a very impressive 16 restaurants which all offer different types of cuisine. Ranging from asian to a la carte dining, the food is to die for.
I stayed on 22nd floor of the hotel, so the views were just breathtaking. I can’t express how incredible the rooms were. I had a few issues (which were not the hotels fault) with the booking of my room however the incredible customer service team handled it quick and efficiently. They are a credit to the hotel. After checking into our room for our 8 night stay, it was onwards to the strip and what a treat it is.
The Las Vegas strip can only be described as a beautiful chaos. There are so many people either tourists, entertainers or residents trying to the fight the general flow of the crowds heading towards one of the 33 resorts spread over the 14 mile strip. I knew I had to see a show during my trip so when in Vegas who do you go to see? Britney Spears of course.
I ate at some really great places including the HardRock cafe at the HardRock Hotel, Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant Burger and the Planet Hollywood Diner. The portions we’re huge like most restaurants offer in the U.S.A, the taste was also incredible. Steak and Eggs for breakfast? All you can eat pancakes? How much you ask? $6.99!
Obviously, if you’re visiting Vegas you have to go see the Grand Canyon over the border in Arizona. It takes about 6 hours by coach to get there but it’s worth the travel. My god it’s one of the most spectacular things i’ve ever seen. The grandeur of it is mind-blowing. It’s just so vast. Attached are some of the photos from my time at the Grand Canyon, I had quite the photoshoot there..
This trip was one of the greatest trips of my life. I really want to go back to the states soon and explore more of California and the bordering states.
